Why Advertising on Hold Works

Advertising on hold works because it targets a very specific demographic, a group of people who are very interested in your products and services, a group that wants to give you their money!

Who are these people?

Your customers of course!

Your callers may have been dealing with you for years but still not know all the benefits of working with you. Advertising on hold reaches your customers when they are very likely to buy from you. Silence on hold is just an obvious waste, but a radio on hold may be advertising a competitor!

Don't waste this prime sales opportunity.

Let Captive Audience advertising on hold gently remind callers about your best features and benefits. Build your business every time you push the hold button.

...or How I Made $250,000 by Saying One Word, One Time

In his book, Guerilla Marketing, Jay Conrad Levinson suggests that we need to tell our story in a variety of ways, and that most of those ways are free or at least very low cost.

Applying that principle, I added the line, "Thanks for calling Evans Enterprises, the home of Captive Audience advertising on hold, and other great audio and video production."

On the face of it, it's a pretty simple message, I only said that word "video" once, but it's been repeated to all of our callers over these 20 years. I forget to tell my clients, but my recorded message never does. One of my ads on hold clients who heard that message asked, "So... you do video too?"

"Yes, we do." I answered, opening a dialog that's resulted in a long relationship that has generated over a quarter million dollars in business.

So often we overlook the simple things in marketing that can net such huge results. Advertising on hold. Simple and effective.
