The Premier Technologies SM1000
The SM1000 is a 100% digital Smart Media Player designed specifically for advertising on hold, with sound quality that is far superior to many other playback options. New programs are loaded by inserting a new memory card.
Because the SM1000 uses flash memory, loss of power to the unit will not erase a production. Also, because it has no moving parts it is extremely reliable.
Installation
1. Plug the "wall-wart" AC adapter in a wall power outlet. Plug the small-connector end into the SM1000's power input jack.
2. Connect an audio cable from the Music on Hold (MOH) circuit of your phone system to either the 600 Ohm or 8 Ohm RCA output jack on the side of the SM1000.
If your phone system's MOH jack is an 1/8" "mini-jack" use the included mini-plug to RCA cable.
Likewise, if you are replacing a portable CD player or other device with an 1/8" mini-jack output (typically the Headphone jack), rather than use a new cable, you can use the one that is already connected to your phone system. Simply plug the included mini-jack to RCA adapter onto the end of your cable and then into one of the output jacks on the SM1000.
3. Insert the Smart Media memory card into the slot on the right side of the unit, with the gold side of the card facing away from you. If the card does not slid in to the middle of the label, it has not been inserted properly.
4. Adjust the volume and tone of the program, using the controls on the side of the unit.
