Digital repeaters - How your messages on hold are played

Messages on hold are fed to your phone system from a Digital Repeater that you can buy or rent from us. As you shop, you'll notice a number of options, but digitial repeaters these days all play your on hold messaging from Flash memory, with few moving parts. Digital repeaters load programs in different ways.

We favor digital repeaters from Premier Technologies, out of Long Lake, Minnesota. Premier's repeaters offer the best of American-made technology and reliability. We have Premier units that have been in service for more than 10 years, and still going.

Phone systems and messages on hold

In order to take advantage of our service, you'll need a phone system that is capable of music on hold (MOH). If you currently have a radio or another on hold service, you're ready to go. Most business phone systems have this function. These systems have a central sorting unit that sorts calls to extensions around your office.

Most "off the shelf" office phones (2- to 4-line "systems" sold at Office Depot, Staples, Best Buy, etc.) do not have the music on hold function. However, you can get an after-market adapter that will give you MOH. You can get an adapter from us if you have one of these phones. View a list of phones we can adapt.

If you want to look into a business phone system with "Music on Hold" capability and other useful features, here are some places to get started:
